1 3/4 cup mayonnaise (I used reduced fat)
1 cup buttermilk
1 tsp garlic salt
1 tsp onion salt
1 tsp Accent
1/2 -1 tsp black pepper
parsley (dried or fresh)
Mix all ingredients in blender until well combined. Refrigerate. This will be closer in consistency to dip, but can be thinned out with more buttermilk, if desired.
My kids (and myself) LOVE ranch dressing. They will eat just about anything dipped in ranch...even pizza!?! This is a big treat to have the real, homemade stuff. I got this recipe from my sister in law years ago & it has been a favorite ever since. Thanks Angie!!

so ummm I ate QUITE a few pickles dipped in this delicious dressing last night. I made myself sick on pickles and ranch dressing. Yeah, it was that good.
I want to dip pretzles in this dressing.
Ok, forgive me for asking, but what is "1 tsp Accent"? I would like to try and make this, but just cant figure that one out.
Angie, "Accent" is a type of seasoning (I put it in the first picture so you can see what the label looks like) The recipe only calls for 1 teaspoon, so if you can't find it, the recipe would not be ruined. It is found in the spice aisle of the grocery store by the salt & other seasonings.
This is my mom's recipe and it is a good one. I have made it before without the Accent and it actually does taste different, bland. I didn't think it would make a difference, but it does, especially if you use light mayo. Just so you know!

Mmmm...
I made this today...and I LOVE it! I am posting it on my blog and telling everyone to come check it out on your blog. My kids went crazy over it. I especially love it because I have all those ingredients on hand all the time (especially using dried parsley.) Thank you for sharing this one. It's a big hit at our house!
Annie, I'm so glad you liked this! It is definitely a favorite around here.
Hi Rindy told me about you and your blog. I love your creativity in your cooking. How long does homemade ranch dressing last?
